Nesting...and Resting...

I think it has been a very long time since I have last posted...Probably almost 6 months now...About how long it has been since I got pregnant:)
So What have we been up to all these 30 weeks? I would call it Nesting...and Resting...
I wanted to show you some of the projects I have tackled over my time of baby growth. Who knows maybe some of you will use what I post for your own babies some day:)
One of the first projects I worked on was a diaper bag holder. Here is the tutorial that I used for making it. http://sewbeautifulmag.blogspot.com/2011/02/shannons-elephant-diaper-stacker-with.html
The directions were not all there, but if you know how to sew it is pretty easy to put all the pieces together:) The picture on the right is what her's looked like when it was all done. So cute:) She used a hanger to hang hers, I used ties. I figured if it was my project I could do whatever I wanted to it:)

The Next project that I really wanted to tackle was some storage bins for the nursery. They are so expensive when you go to hobby lobby or target....besides I came to realize that I could make ones that matched my nursery for less any way:) I am so happy how they came out:) Here is the link for this bin tutorial.

So I didn't stop there in trying different kinds of bins. These were both made from diaper boxes. These were fun to make because I got to use old jeans and burlap to make them happen:) Here is the tutorial for them:

Okay so this one was one of my favorites... Little baby toms...:) I couldn't help but melt when they were finished and I saw the final product. They will probably only fit the little guy at the very beginning, but the cuteness was so worth it! The lady also had a tutorial for toddler toms too....

This is one of the things I look forward to using. It is a diaper bag diaper organizer. Basically put your diapers and wipes together in the bag and then put it in the diaper bag...a nice way not to loose the diapers or wipes at the bottom of the bag. I am all about organization, so this seemed like a fun easy project to do:) And I will say it is pretty cute too. Here is the tutorial for this one:

This next one, a swaddler, came out so adorable. I am in love with the bird print. Can't wait to start using it on our little guy:)

Oh my goodness, this is one of my favorite pieces that I made. I made our little man his own baby quilt. I know it will be a while before he will use it, but it is so fun! There is lots of soft squares for him to feel and cuddle with. My goal(we will see if it actually works or not) is to make each of our children a simple quilt that will be their special quilt growing up.
Here is the pattern for this one:

These pictures summarize a bunch of different things I worked on. I will start with the bumpers. I know some studies are showing that having bumpers is unsafe for the baby...I remain to be convinced. If you desire to try...go for it...convince me if you want. I like the way they look.
here is the tutorial for them:

The Dust ruffle was pretty easy to make...Here is the tutorial for that one:

The rugs were another fun project that really brought some fun color to the room. They are actually made using a hula hoop and old tee shirts of Tyler's and mine. This project is actually a really great one for older kids who like to do crafts:) I know I enjoyed it. Word of warning...it did take a while...Here is the tutorial for that one:

These are some burp clothes. The ones I have made for my pregnant(now not pregnant) friends have said that they work really well. They are flannel on one side and fleece on the other.
Here is the tutorial for these: http://www.danamadeit.com/2012/04/celebrate-baby-tutorial-burp-cloth-gift-sets.html

The awesomeness continues with a little man suit I made out of one of Tyler's old shirts:) GO Red Socks:)

One other project that I have worked on that I think will be really beneficial is this door latch cover...might be useful for quietly getting into the room with out the baby knowing it:) Here is the tutorial for that one:
 http://www.killerbdesigns.com/door-latch-cover-for-babys-room/
And last but not least....I made my own bobby pillow. If ya all have shopped in the baby world...everything is really expensive...This being one of them...I, however, did my research and found a lady online who made up her own pattern and had a tutorial:) I love making things for less! when you know it is something that will be needed, it is good to save a little bit here and there:)
Here is the tutorial for this one:

I know there are other projects I have worked on, but I can't think of them right now...Hope you find something that catches your eye and inspires you to sew either for a friend, or for yourself...:)
